So it is another August again when the family has a reason to get together and celebrate the birthday of the August babies! Well, we should be watching the NDP parade with our son, but it is fortunate that we can leave this till he knows how to wave a flag and sing We are Singapore. For now, we are still at the stage of ogling (don’t even mention BLOW) at candles on birthday cakes.
It was Steven’s birthday and we got together at 10 at Claymore at Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel. Buffet spread was fabulous but as usual, I could never really get down to the real savouring of nice food because my attention needs to be split between my food and my baby. I do remember the oxtail stew and prawn noodles were delicious though!
Some pictures of us!
On the very next day is my dad’s 60th birthday. I feel this is too important to be brushed off with an ang bao as a present, so here we are at Chin Lee Restaurant – a cosy neighbourhood Teochew restaurant for a get-together. Oh, I did get to enjoy the coffee ribs (quite a hit) and the dessert Orh Ni (yam paste)!
