The Combi Parenting Station is like no other baby product I’ve seen before. It is multi-functional baby gear – a day bed, a change table, a swinging bed and a high chair all in one unit. As a mom of three, it really helps to have multi-purpose baby gear that grows with the children because it saves a lot of space and money. Imagine having to invest in just one product that can do everything, compared to spending separately on four. I received the Reminis model for the purpose of writing this review and within a month of using this as a swing bed and high chair for the twins, I became addicted to its convenience!
The Combi Parenting Station is suitable for children from birth to 4 years old. It is recommended that infants use it as a day bed or a swinging bed until they are 6 months old, the station can then be converted into a high chair when they are ready to start weaning off to solid food.
As a day bed, the Combi Parenting Station lays completely flat. The footrest and headrest convert to create a shallow bassinet. The top of the seat unit is wider around the baby’s head which ensures air circulation around the baby’s face. You can secure your baby in the 5-point harness for safety and the cushion seat unit has a cuddling style that will comfortably accommodate your baby up to 6 months.
I use the Station for supervised naps during the day. It comes with wheels that can be swiveled and locked, which means it’s very mobile so I can move the baby with me around the house. If only I knew about this product when the twins were still in their newborn stage!
As a swinging bed, the Combi Parenting Station allows you to swing your baby manually with gentle pushes. For me, I like to swing them when I’m watching TV or working on my laptop. It has a 5-level height adjustment and I can adjust its height according to whether I’m sitting on the floor or at the table. It also has 5 adjustable reclining angles so you can find the best position for your baby. When they are asleep, I can lock the swing feature simply by sliding a knob into its lock position.
The Combi Parenting Station also easily converts to a high chair with the pull of a lever. We practice baby-led weaning, so I can add the tray which is a good size. As they progress in their weaning journey, the tray should comfortably fit a child-sized plate and cup. Of course, the light colours of the seat cover are going to get dirty from sticky fingers pretty quickly. Luckily it’s easy to remove and it is machine washable. The whole unit is easy to wipe clean.
As a booster seat, the Parenting Station also comfortably seats my 3.5 year old preschooler and I can roll it right up to the dining table. He’s still too short now to reach his food from the dining chairs so this comes in handy for him. The shoulder belt is not needed for him so we can store it easily behind the cushion. Versatile eh?
As a change table, the Parenting Station is pretty handy and it makes life easy to be able to change your child while you are sitting down. Unfortunately the harness is quite bulky under the baby’s back and I’d suggest laying a changing pad under your baby’s bottom to keep the seat cover clean. Again, why didn’t I come across this product when they were newborns? I wouldn’t have bought a separate changing table then!
Generally, the Combi Parenting Station is easy to use. A lot of thought has been put into its design and I love how it delivers comfort for both mother and baby. Apart from the ease of being able to wheel my baby around with me, the station’s height allows me to feed and change them while I’m sitting down, eliminating the hoisting and stretching usually required to perform these activities.
The Combi Parenting Station is not as high as many traditional high chairs, but it doesn’t need to be. The fact that it stays close to the floor means the babies can participate and “play” with their older brother, while being safely strapped on to the chair.
I can easily see how a Combi Parenting Station could become as essential inside some homes as a stroller or baby carrier is outside the home. I like that it is multi-functional 4-in-1 baby gear and it grows with the child. Truly a highly recommended and great parenting aid. I can’t go back without it!
